Flyers and Emery will discuss contract extension

The Flyers feel that they’ve seen enough of Emery to make him their number one goalie long term.
Paul Holmgren told CSNPhilly’s Tim Panaccio that he’d be willing to discuss the extension during the season, rather than waiting until the off-season, but he’d like to wait until after the Olympics and trade deadlines have come and gone.
Ray Emery viewed Wednesday night’s game in Edmonton from the press box, and it was rumored that he was suffering from a sore groin. Another rumor broke this morning that Emery was benched for disciplinary reasons. Coach Peter Laviolette says that he just wanted to give Emery a health day.
Either way, Ray Emery will be back in the orange and black next October, and a few after that.
