Gagne leaves Canada camp with injury

Darren Dreger’s twitter account first reported that Simon Gagne has left Team Canada practice camp with an undisclosed injury.
Further details have been made available and it appears that Gagne’s injury is a groin tweak. We’ll keep our ears open on the situation and update as soon as more information is made available.
Update 2:07PM EST: What was first thought to be a groin injury has been officially diagnosed as a tweaked right hip. Gagne should be ready to go for the start of Flyers training camp on September 12th.
Update 2:31PM EST: Paul Holmgren gave the following statement moments ago about Simon’s injury situation. Seems as if reports are conflicting, but we all know how the Flyers like to shelter their injury news.
Holmgren update on Gagne: “Simon Gagne sustained a mild strain of his right groin last night while practicing with Team Canada. He was examined by Team Canada’s medical trainer and team orthopedic physician who believed that it was not a serious injury. Simon will fly back to Philadelphia today and be examined by Flyers team orthopedic physician, Peter DeLuca tomorrow afternoon. ” via Flyers official team Twitter account.

Emery’s pads and mask! Delicious!
We were lucky enough to grab a sneak at Ray Emery’s new pads and his new mask design. Really hoping that he keeps both, as they’re both very unique and different from what you’re used to seeing in the NHL.

The orange base of the pads is awesomely unique.
As far as the mask is concerned:

After a 20 year career, Jeremy Roenick calls it quits and hangs up the skates.

Jeremy Roenick tenured for five teams in his great 20 year career in the NHL, however, none seemed to flourish more and be respected by the fans as his tenure in Philadelphia was. Roenick spent 3 seasons in the Orange and Black where he tallied 173PTS (67G,106A). In JR’s first season with the Flyers, he won the Bobby Clarke Trophy (MVP) and Yanick Dupre Memorial (Class Guy) team awards and quickly became a fan favorite for his outspoken, never hold anything back attitude.
On January 30, 2001, he scored his 1,000th NHL point in a game versus the Senators. He also marked his 1,000th game milestone with the Flyers on November 16th, 2002.
